My husband found a KitchenAid mixer being given away free on the street. It is a red Professional mixer, has some dings, no bowl. It has some issues (not surprising under circumstances). 

It will not go all the way up to the highest speed. Also when you try to gradate the speed downward you have to completely stop and then work your way back up. Hope that makes sense.

Is this worth trying to fix? Does anyone know of someone who repairs these mixers?
