Peter Reinhart is ONE of the world’s leading authorities on bread. He has just finished 5 months orchestrating and hosting On the Rise - International Symposium on Bread-a zoom extravaganza featuring all aspects of bread, machinery, types of flours, big and small bakeries, demos and showcasing leaders from around the world.

Here he is-live and in person- on zoom- to tell us what is happening in the world of bread today. He is so engaging and full of energy. His newest book, his 13th, will be out next year. Tune in to see and hear him for yourself.

About Peter Reinhart

Peter Reinhart was an early member of the Baker's Dozen back in the 1990's, and was a co-editor of the bread chapter in "The Baker's Dozen Cookbook" (along with Fran Gage and Carol Field). His Santa Rosa bakery and cafe, Brother Juniper's, was a launching pad for his subsequent career as a culinary educator and cookbook author (his books have won 4 James Beard Awards). After teaching at the California Culinary Academy for five years, he and his wife Susan moved back to the east coast where he taught at Johnson & Wales University (JWU) in Providence for 4 years before moving to Charlotte, NC to help open the new campus there, where he has been on the faculty for the past 19 years. He launched the Johnson & Wales International Symposium on Bread in 2017 and just wrapped up the 2021 version, a five-month virtual symposium featuring 45 presentations (2 a week) by thought leaders from around the world on the theme, "The Future of Bread."

Throughout the years, Peter has continued to write, as well as teach classes across the country, and has carved out a role as a frequent speaker at many conferences, especially about pizza. His website, www.pizzaquest.com features videos, blog posts, recipes, and interviews with dozens of pizza luminaries, and is the inspiration for his upcoming 13th book (March 2022), Pizza Quest: My Never-Ending Search for the Perfect Pizza.
